Maintaining your Jitterbug mural
Your mural requires little maintenance. Though not all wallpaper types are washable, they can all benefit from regular dusting. Just like every surface in your home or business gathers dust, wallpaper also collects dust and allergens.
How often should I dust my wallpaper mural?
Cleaning experts suggest dusting your wallpaper anywhere between every three months to a year. Rule of thumb? The more often you clean your wallpaper the easier. Keep in mind that if your wallpaper mural is in a high traffic area, kitchen, or room where pets hang out, walls tend to collect more dust than other locations.
How do I dust my wallpaper mural?
- Microfiber duster: Using a microfiber duster on a long pole is a quick and easy way to dust your wallpaper mural. Swipe it gently across the surface to wipe away dust.
- Vacuuming: Use a soft brush attachment on your vacuum cleaner to remove the dust by gently passing over the surface of your mural. Be careful that your brush attachment is clean and does not have any abrasives trapped between the bristles. Avoid pushing down with your brush to prevent scratching.
How do I clean everyday dirt, smudges and splatters?
When dusting your wallpaper mural make sure to especially get deep into the corners, along seams and at the edges of crown moulding and baseboards where dust accumulates.
When it comes to deep cleaning, not all wallcovering types are the same. While vinyl murals can be cleaned using water, you should not use liquids on paper and fabric based murals at all.
