Description

The striking depiction of a female head is attributed to Annibale Carracci, an Italian Baroque painter. Although not found in any of his paintings, the idealized features resemble those in his Palazzo Farnese frescoes in Rome. The large scale and detailed hatching suggest it may be a full-scale study for a fresco, possibly portraying a sibyl or ancient prophetess. Created around 1595-1602, this exquisite drawing highlights Annibale’s mastery and the figure’s profound presence. This gorgeous Jitterbug mural makes a beautiful addition to any room.
