Description

Katsushika Hokusai (1760-1849) is renowned for his woodblock prints, notably the series “Thirty-Six Views of Mount Fuji,” created when he was over seventy. Despite its title, the series actually comprises forty-six views, showcasing Hokusai’s creativity in capturing Mount Fuji from various angles. Mount Fuji, Japan’s tallest mountain at 12,385 feet, held cultural significance and was a pilgrimage site in Hokusai’s time. Hokusai’s strength lay in his exceptional drawing and use of color, exemplified in his portrayal of Mount Fuji with clear skies above and a thunderstorm below, conveying simplicity and visual impact.

Jitterbug is thrilled to offer this iconic artwork as a fine art wallpaper mural, bringing a touch of Japanese artistry into contemporary spaces.
